There was a fabulous turnout for the recent Heritage Exhibition at the Institute Hall. Lots of historic local documents, books and photographs were on display and a heritage walk by the Chairman of the Parish Council, David Thornewell, through the Mill Street and Blacklands Conservation Areas, attracted well over 30 people.
The Mayor, Cllr Roger Roud (who is also the Hall's Booking Secretary!) was guest of honour although ironically, as a keen local historian, Roger had also helped to put much of the exhibition together, and the Lady Mayoress was responsible for the delicious cakes! Donations for the refreshments have been put towards the Mayor's charity of the year, Kent Air Ambulance. Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such a success.
