Place Your Bets! Have some fun with the Heath Players at their popular Race Night - 20th October 2023
Mateys, the Heath Players arrrrrrrr back and raring to put on their first production since 2019. It has been tough not being able to get together, rehearse and perform, but they cannot wait to get up on that stage again and treat you to an incredible show!
On Friday 20th and Saturday 21st May, they'll be taking to the high seas and hosting something a little bit different; “Mur-darrr!!! A Pirate Themed Murder Mystery!” If you’ve missed your panto fix, but also love a classic who-dunnit, then this is the show for you! Expect to laugh, shout and shiver in your boots at this high energy performance, full of salty characters with slightly dubious West Country accents!
Tickets are officially on sale now, priced at £15 a ticket. Included in this ticket price is a 2-course meal of a Ploughman’s Lunch and dessert, as well as access to a licensed bar, so you can fill your cups as well as your bellies!
Do come along in pirate-themed fancy dress - dig out those eye patches and (preferably fake) parrots!
Please see below for more details on the event and how to purchase your tickets. We arrr looking forward to seeing you soon!
The Wateringbury Flower Club is getting Christmassy! Join them for something seasonal on Wednesday 17th November. Please direct all enquiries to the email in the post below.
There was a fabulous turnout for the recent Heritage Exhibition at the Institute Hall. Lots of historic local documents, books and photographs were on display and a heritage walk by the Chairman of the Parish Council, David Thornewell, through the Mill Street and Blacklands Conservation Areas, attracted well over 30 people.
The Mayor, Cllr Roger Roud (who is also the Hall's Booking Secretary!) was guest of honour although ironically, as a keen local historian, Roger had also helped to put much of the exhibition together, and the Lady Mayoress was responsible for the delicious cakes!
Donations for the refreshments have been put towards the Mayor's charity of the year, Kent Air Ambulance.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such a success.
The Institute Hall is pleased to be hosting a Heritage Exhibition on Saturday 12th September in conjunction with the East Malling Conservation Group and East Malling & Larkfield Parish Council. During the afternoon David Thornewell will be leading a Heritage Walk starting from the Hall at 2pm and returning by around 3.30pm. He intends to take in the Mill Street and Blacklands Conservation Areas, including Clare Lake, and will stop at intervals to speak about various heritage features.
Refreshments will be available at the Institute for a small donation to the East Malling Conservation Group.
Further details for the exhibition, including opening times, will be published in due course.
