Our Hall is only open at present for very limited purposes but we are preparing for more of our groups to return in the coming weeks. Please read on...
The Institute Hall is managed as a charity by volunteer Trustees and a Management Committee. We have been reviewing the Government’s Road Map to re-opening very carefully. While a return to ‘business as usual’ is a little way off yet, we are working towards a gradual re-opening within the limits of the ongoing restrictions. We very much welcome booking enquiries although please note that we will not be able to accept bookings for more than 25 people or for any parties/discos or similar social events before at least 21st June. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for visiting our website. Please take some time to explore by using the menu options at the top of this page. In normal times, the Institute Hall is available for hire at competitive rates for a wide range of functions. Click here to view our 'Hire Information'. During the previous periods between lockdowns, we introduced COVID Secure measures and introduced some Special Conditions of Hire to supplement our Standard Conditions to help ensure the health and safety of all our users. It is important that all hirers follow the rules.
We hope you will be able to find the information you are looking for but if not please get in touch via our contact page where you can also find a booking enquiry web form.
Outside of the current restrictions, we are a vibrant hall with lots going on. We are the meeting place of choice for a number of local groups ranging from amateur dramatics, fitness classes, flower arranging, fun music sessions for little ones, and children's study lessons. Find out more via the What's On tab on the menu bar. Please contact the group concerned for further information as at the present time not all of our groups have been able to return.

Our Hall floor has been in need of replacement for some while. It was beginning to break up in parts and was becoming very difficult to clean. We were able to take the opportunity during lockdown to get this work done. Thank you to East Malling & Larkfield Parish Council and to The Heath Players who each generously donated £1000 which covered just under half the cost of the work. Thank you to Astrosyn Contract Interiors for doing such a good job for us.
